Kenneth W. Barwick, 54, died July 9,
2001. Born in Bartow, Florida on July 6, 1947.
Ken graduated Salutatorian from Mulbery
High School, received his B.A. at Florida State University,
graduated University of Florida Medical School and trained through
internship, residency and fellowships at University of Virgina, Yale
and Memorial Sloan Kettering. He was a member of GIPS for many
years. After training, Ken worked as a pathologist at Yale, were he
received awards for his teaching, before moving to Jacksonville in
1988. He was employed by Jacksonville Pathology Group at Baptist
Medical Center, active in many volunteer organizations and community
activities which were an extension of his belief that we must all
reach beyond our professions, families and self to give back to the
community. He was a friend mentor and teacher to many throughout his
life, he is survived by his mother, Vivian Barwick, wife, Georgia
Barwick, two daughters, Sarah and Emily Barwick, three brothers,
Dan, Steve and Gary Barwick.
