2012 USCAP GIPS Forum: EVIDENCE-BASED MEDICINE IN THE PRACTICE OF GASTROINTESTINAL PATHOLOGY: Vancouver Convention Center 211-214 March 17, 2012 3 - 5 pm

GIPS Abstract Award:

All pathology residents/fellows who are presenting an abstract as first author at the annual USCAP meeting in Vancouver in March 2012 are eligible to apply. The award comprises of a certificate from GIPS, a sum of $500, and free registration at a GI course (see below for list).

Interested candidates should submit the following information: title of the study, poster or platform, abstract number, poster number, day and time of presentation (AM/PM for poster, exact time for platform presentation) and year of training (e.g., PGY3). This information should be sent to Dr. Matthew Yeh, Chair of Training Committee at the following address below via e-mail or regular mail by February 21, 2012.

2011 Abstract Award Winner:

Kevin Golden, Brigham & Women's Hospital. High Goblet Cell Density Protects Against Progression to Adenocarcinoma in Patients with Barrett's Esophagus.

 GIPS Travel Award:

 The Roger Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society (GIPS) would like to invite applications for the “GIPS Travel Award”. Each year, this award is given by GIPS to pathology residents who are interested in gastrointestinal pathology. The award comprises of free registration to selected GI courses and a sum of $500 to cover travel-related expenses. The courses currently offered are:  

1) Harvard Medical School: Gastrointestinal, Liver and Pancreatic Pathology, Boston, MA (May 7-10, 2012)
